Gabriella Canzani
Pianist, composer
Gabriella Canzani is a Montréal-based pianist and composer who strives to create music that is, above all else, enjoyable for performers and listeners. In these confusing and stressful times, she hopes to provide comfort and escape through her music’s gentle harmonies and allusions to nature.
Gabriella completed her undergraduate degree in composition at the Schulich School of Music in 2025, under the tutelage of Dr. Melissa Hui, where she served as a resident composer for the vocal department.
Some of her recent works include Un soir d’automne (2024) for soprano and piano, Ce qui rend tout plus beau (2025) for choir and piano, as well as Ode to Mourning Doves (2025) for orchestra.
While she enjoys spreading her love of music through her compositions, Gabriella is also passionate about teaching the next generation of musicians; she gives weekly piano lessons to a few dozen students whose ages range from 4 to 82.
