Gabriella Canzani

Pianist, composer

Gabriella (Ella) Canzani is a Montréal-based pianist and composer who strives to create music that is, above all else, enjoyable for performers and listeners. In these confusing and stressful times, she hopes to provide comfort and escape through her music’s gentle harmonies and allusions to nature.

Gabriella completed her undergraduate degree in composition at McGill University’s Schulich School of Music in 2025, under the tutelage of Dr. Melissa Hui, where she served as a resident composer for the vocal department.

Her most recent works include two pieces for soprano and piano entitled Un soir d’automne and Nuit de printemps (2025), as well as Ode to Mourning Doves (2025) for orchestra, which was recently premiered by the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra on January 21st, 2026.

While Gabriella enjoys spreading her love of music through her compositions, she is also passionate about teaching the next generation of musicians; she gives weekly piano lessons to a few dozen students.
